Dear Friend,
Hi I'm Greg Vincent, and in case we haven't met before I'd love to take just a moment to introduce myself quickly. I live with my gorgeous wife Annette, my 2 beautiful daughters Natasha & Katelin and our lovable Labrador Bundy on a rural property in the magnificent Hawkesbury Valley (just on the outskirts of Sydney).
As a family we enjoy travelling, camping, water skiing, snow skiing and doing karate together. In fact, Annette is a black belt & the girls are almost black belts, so I’ll either have to be very well behaved or take up sprint training very soon.
I grew up in a loving & devoted family where we didn’t have much but we got by and my 3 sisters and I had a lot of laughs along the way. My Dad was a very hard worker & my Mum ran the local Post Office with my Grandfather. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying that “Money doesn’t grow on trees”, well we probably heard that 2-3 times a week.
When I was old enough to move into the workforce I began to think about what I wanted to do for a living and how I could make sure I wouldn't have to worry about just getting by. One thing I noticed early on was that in every industry I looked at moving into, the best people in any industry seemed to be the ones that earned the most, so I decided that I had to find one job and become really good at it.
I wanted a career where I could meet a lot of people & really help them... but I still wanted to be rewarded for my efforts, so I could also live my life. That’s when I decided to go into real estate.
Since then, I’ve been in the real estate industry for over 20 years & I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to help thousands of people buy, rent or sell their home. It's an incredible feeling to help a first home buyer finally purchase their own place, or to connect people with just the right property at just the right time.
Now, as you can imagine, over the last few years I've learnt a few things about real estate, both personally and professionally and today I'd like to give you the chance to access insider tips and strategies. Just before I do though, I'd like to share with you a strategy I've personally used to save a deposit for a home, which I thought you might find useful too.
One of the things I've found through talking to many prospective property owners is that when you are saving for a home it can be really easy to get sidetracked & tempted to spend your income on other things like holidays, plasma TVs, cars, and son on. The thing is, when you're saving money, it is important to begin with the end in mind. This also applies when you are trying to achieve any goal... So, here's a quick and easy way to help keep yourself on track.
When you set up your online banking you will have the option to set your own password... why not use your password as a way to remind yourself of your end goal. For instance, I once used this strategy to save for a ski trip to 'Whistler' in Canada, so I used the word ‘Canada as my password’. This meant that every time I deposited money into the account I felt that I was getting closer towards my goal & if I ever made a withdrawal I would always end up taking out the smallest amount possible. It worked a treat!
To help yourself stay focused on your goal why not change your account password to something that will remind you of what you want to achieve. It might seem simple, but it has really worked for me over the years and I know it can work for you too!

...A few years ago, we were selling our house and we let the buyers move in early prior to settlement, because they were keen to get settled and we were able to move into our new home. The bad news came when the buyers of our old house pulled out prior to settlement & left us out in the cold with 2 houses that we couldn’t afford.
All of a sudden I was left with hundreds of unanswered questions... what will I do if the buyers have destroyed the house in the meantime? Where do I get the money to buy the house we are living in now? Should we start packing & move back into our old house & start again?...
In the end we were able to sort out the mess we were in, but in the process we lost countless hours of sleep and tens of thousands of dollars. Needless to say it was an awful experience.
